Les Courtines Cottage – Peaceful Retreat Between the Salagou Lake and the Navacelles Canyon
Nestled in a peaceful green setting on the foothills of the Larzac plateau, just a short drive from Lake Salagou and the spectacular Navacelles Canyon, Les Courtines Cottage offers the perfect base to relax and explore one of southern France’s most beautiful regions.
This comfortable 65 m² cottage (approximately 700 sq ft) features a spacious living area with a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and washing machine.
The two double bedrooms can be arranged to suit your needs, with either one king-size bed (180 x 190 cm) or two single beds (90 x 190 cm) in each room. The bathroom has been recently renovated and includes a large walk-in shower.
The entire cottage is equipped with reversible air conditioning, a TV and Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay throughout the year.
The highlight of the property is undoubtedly its outdoor space. Guests can enjoy a beautiful garden of nearly 500 m² (approximately 5,380 sq ft), with several areas for outdoor dining and barbecues. You can also relax in a hammock while listening to the gentle sound of the fountain beside a small pond where goldfish, frogs and water lilies thrive.
The swimming pool can be heated from May to September on request, allowing you to enjoy a swim whatever the weather. During the warmer months, outdoor lounge furniture and sun loungers are available so you can soak up the sunshine while admiring the surrounding mountain views.
Families are welcome, and children will love the swing set, trampoline and pool games.
Marc and Corinne also offer electric mountain bike rentals directly on site, making it easy to discover the surrounding countryside. Numerous hiking trails start nearby for those who prefer exploring on foot.
The area is rich in natural and cultural attractions. Nearby highlights include Lake Salagou, the cathedral and museum of Lodève, the Priory of Grandmont, the Cirque de Mourèze, Villeneuvette, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, Clamouse Cave, and the breathtaking Navacelles Canyon, one of France’s most remarkable natural sites and part of the UNESCO-listed landscape. The historic towns of Pézenas and Sète, as well as the Mediterranean coast, are also within easy reach.
The cottage is strictly non-smoking.
Saint-Privat is part of the UNESCO-labelled Cœur d'Hérault Geopark, a region renowned for its exceptional landscapes. From the cottage, you can easily explore some of southern France’s most spectacular natural sites, from dramatic canyons and striking rock formations to picturesque medieval villages and, of course, the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
